Currently the platform is only available on iOS and it’s a mixed feeling between should they open it to Android or just protect it for iOS to maintain its exclusivity.

Especially, if you are talking here in Indonesian market, we have just seen how the powerful and influential people are using the iOS devices for their daily smartphone or maybe tablet.

It’s just one week after those influential people came in and the whole nation feel “FOMO” or Fear Of Missing Out and it’s just amazing how people feel left out right now because they cannot join the rooms that those influential people are in.

The question left to ask maybe “ How Do I Actually Sell My Service Here? “ If we’re looking only from how the platform works, it maybe hard to imagine that you can sell your services here.

However, in my opinion there is a huge possibility even to sell it to other countries if we simply use English as our language in the room. So, here are some things that I think can totally change the way we sell stuffs there.

Optimize Your Bio

The good thing with Clubhouse is that they do not put a limit to your profile bio like what Instagram does. Clubhouse allows you to write a long description on what you want to write on your Bio.

However, in my country, Indonesia, people do often write their occupation and the position they are in. For example, CEO of ( Whatever ) or maybe SEM specialist of ( A certain unicorn company ).

Obviously this type of bio can attract people to follow you, but it is quite hard to make people buy your products or services as they do not really know what you can do for them.

So, I believe that these simple step by step of optimizing your club house can totally rock your profile and increase the probability of people following you because they believe you can help them solve their problem.

  1. What can you do to help them solve their problem ( I help experts to get real clients without ever spending a single dime on Ads )
  2. What are you talking about on Clubhouse ( I share about digital marketing, online business and personal branding )
  3. What have you achieved ( I helped clients to reach their sales target in three months 100% online )
  4. Your occupation
  5. If you have a funnel for opt-in or lead magnets, that would be amazing.
  6. Make sure your account is connected with your Instagram or Twitter

The goal of an optimized bio should attract people when they visit your profile. So, when you later spend your time spilling off your value bombs on Clubhouse and people love it, they will check your profile and attracted to your bio and then follow your account.

Get In The Right Room

If you are using Clubhouse for networking and meeting your potential clients online. Then you need to stop joining random rooms, unless you want to chill and have some fun using the platform. But, if that’s not your goal, then don’t do that.

If you are in the digital marketing niche, or maybe fashion business niche. Then you want to follow people that are talking about that stuffs, that’s why an optimized bio is important that will totally help you as well to navigate to the right person.

After following those people, you want to join their room and listen the whole conversation. Then, you want to do the step number three

Be Proactive

“Raise Hand”, this is Clubhouse way to show that you are interested to bring in some value or to join the conversation. Now, I know that it is daunting to raise hand and join the conversation. But, this is important for you to let people see you and get to know you.

Once you are allowed to speak, then introduce yourselves and say your bio :

“ Hi, my name is William and I help companies and experts to create a strong brand identity and experience online “ then you want to share your opinion on the topic that they are talking about.

By doing this, people will start to notice and listen to you, because you lay there down your expertise and how you can totally help them.

What’s good is that the people that are listening are in the same interest with you, that’s why joining the right room is important.

If you speak good, and your value is appreciated and most important solve someone else’s problem, they might visit and follow your account online.

It’s Time To Connect

After knowing that some people followed your account, then you want to check whether:

  1. Do you like what they write on your bio? ( If yes, then follow )
  2. Are they your target market ( If yes, follow their Instagram )

Connecting on Clubhouse is not easy if you don’t drop some value in a room. In Indonesia, we have a lot of room saying “ Silent Room, if you like someone please follow “ this is weird, because why do you follow someone who you do not know whether they can bring value or not.

But, if you bring some value in and right people listen to you, then you are ushering right market into your account.

Connecting On Clubhouse Is Not Enough

Following one another is not enough on Clubhouse, the reason to that is you cannot DM them like you do on Instagram.

That’s why it is important that you get connected one more time on Instagram. If you enjoy someone’s talk, then go follow their Instagram and you can DM them something like this:

“ Hey, my name is William, I just listened to your talk on Clubhouse and enjoyed it so much, however, there is a twist that i think i add on to your talk. I think ( Share what’s on your mind ), what do you think? I want to know your opinion on this :D”.

Don’t get to cocky and rude while DM-ing the speakers. It’s a place to connect with other people not the place to push people away from you.

The second condition is when someone join your room or speak together with you in a room. This way you can say something like this:

“ Hey, this is William from earlier talk on Clubhouse, thank you so much for joining the talk and sharing good insights of yours. Hopefully, we can connect also on Instagram “

Finally

You might ask “ Then how do i sell my products or services on Clubhouse? “ The simple answer is you don’t. You don’t sell on Clubhouse, but you might sell in on Instagram by letting them go down your funnel.
